Pahacel Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose was obtained by controlled oxidation of rejenerated cellulose with sterile plain weave fabric which is 100% organic material. The fabric is white / pale yellow cast and has a faint and caramel- like aroma. It is strong and can be sutured or cut without fraying. Pahacel Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose is used adjunctively in surgical procedures to assist in the control of capillary, venous and small arterial hemorrhage when ligation or other conventional medhods of control are impractical or ineffective. Pahacel Standard, Pahacel Knit, and Pahacel Fibril hemostats can be cut to size for use in endoscopic peocedures

Oxdized Regenerated Cellulose is absorbed in the body within 7-14 days. Provides rapid hemostasis within 2-3 minutes. Do not cause tissue irritation. Exhibits bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties with the effect on growth and multiplication of gram (+) and gram (-) organisms including aerobic, anaerobic bacteria and bacteria showing resistant to antibiotics. ORC is sterilized by Gamma radiation technique.
